After Barack Obama’s inaugural ceremony, many groups of horses and riders parade through Pennsylvania Avenue. Although that year’s presidential ceremony was a symbol of change, some traditions must be honored and one of them is the equestrian tradition. Among the several groups of horses there were 10 U.S. Northern Border Patrol Agents who were mounted on BLM Mustangs, who are choosen for the Border Patrol because of their natural characteristics. Also on the parade you could see The Michigan Jurisdictional Mounted Police Drill Team and Color Guard. They were gathered from all around Michigan and were mounted on a variety of breeds.

Another group that participated on the parade was the Southern Ohio Ladies Aside and they started first at this show. Dressed in Civil War era attire, they were parading mounted on different breeds- Arabians, Clydesdales etc. All the way from Indiana were send riders from the Culver Military Academy and Culver Girls Academy.
